About Us

Decoding the air we breathe to protect the future of our environments

The Environmental Geochemistry and Atmospheric Research (EGAR) group at IDAEA‑CSIC conducts cutting‑edge research on air quality, atmospheric chemistry and the processes shaping the presence, transformation and impacts of atmospheric pollutants.
Our work integrates advanced measurement technologies, chemical characterization, receptor modelling, atmospheric modelling and data science to understand the origin, evolution and effects of aerosols and gaseous pollutants.

With a strong interdisciplinary perspective, we collaborate with national and international institutions, environmental agencies, and research networks. Our mission is to provide robust scientific evidence and actionable knowledge that support effective air quality management and help build healthier and more sustainable cities.

My time at EGAR has been a journey of growth. It’s a place where you learn to question the world around you and thrive within a collaborative team where synergy is the true engine of innovation.
