The Montseny monitoring site is located in a valley in the Montseny range. It is placed in the Vilar de la Castanya (41°46′ 45.63″N, 02° 21′ 28.92″E, 720 meters masl) Barcelona, a research state belonging to the Generalitat de Catalunya.

The Montsec monitoring site is located at the top of the Serra del Montsec, a calcareous mountain range in the Pre-Pyrenees, in the foothills of the Pyrenees, northeast Spain. It is located beside the facilities of the Montsec Astronomic Observatory, Montsec d’Ares (42° 3′ 5.95″N, 0°43′ 46.03″E, 1600 meters amsl, Lérida.

Urban background site

The Barcelona urban background monitoring site is located within the grounds of the CID CSIC in Barcelona, (41° 23′ 14.28″N, 2° 6′ 56.34″E, 77 meters amsl). Previously, this site was installed at a nearby location, but was moved to its current location in January 2011, where it will remain.
