Valeria held a BSc in Chemistry by the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia and MSc in Environmental Chemistry by the University of Turin (Italy).
Her master thesis was done in collaboration with the University of Aberdeen (UK) and it was focused on the analysis of Arsenic in rice and rice-based products. She has work experience in the field of Environmental Risk Assessments and since September 2021 she is enrolled in a PhD at the Institute of Environmental Assessment and Water Research at the Spanish National Research Council (IDAEA-CSIC - Barcelona, Spain).
PhD project title is “Edible Cities – health benefits vs health risks from Mediterranean urban food production”, it is focused on the research and analysis of organic and inorganic pollutants of concern in existing urban allotments together with the study of their biogeochemical behavior and their uptake in plants.
