Siday graduated in chemistry in 2009 and obtained her master's degree in chemical sciences in 2014, both at the University of Cordoba (Colombia). During her professional training, she has also specialized in pedagogy and she has worked as a professor and researcher on topics related to mercury and heavy metal contamination in different environmental matrices associated with artisanal and small-scale gold mining, application of technologies for the treatment of mining wastewater, and various analytical techniques for the study and determination of these pollutants. Currently, she is a PhD student of the program in Analytical Chemistry and Environment at the University of Barcelona and she is developing her thesis at the Institute of Environmental Assessment and Water Research at the Spanish National Research Council (IDAEA-CSIC) which is focused in passive sampling with Diffusive Gradients in Thin-films devices (DGT).
