Rui You born in Sichuan (China) in 1990. After obtained her degree in engineering, she studied master courses at Southwest University (China) from 2013 to 2016. During that period, she devoted herself to the research about environmental chemistry, especially into the pollution of mercury. Her MSc thesis project is about the effect of low-molecular weight organic acids on the speciation of mercury in the soils of Water-Level-Fluctuating zone of the Three Gorges Reservoir.
Since September 2016, she has been awarded a scholarship under the State Scholarship Fund(China) to pursue her study in IDAEA-CSIC (Barcelona) as a PhD. student. Currently her job is mainly involved in analyzing the value of several contaminants (Pb, Hg, As) in the edible part of the peri-urban crops, to assess the pressure of the infrastructure on the peri-urban agriculture.
