Miquel Ortiz Rodríguez
Description
Miquel obtained a BSc in Chemistry at the University of Barcelona. His bachelor’s thesis focused on the synthesis of biomimetic copper-based photocatalysts for the treatment of wastewaters. He later acquired a MSc in Analytical Chemistry at the University of Barcelona, joining the IDAEA-CSIC to carry out a MSc thesis in the development of LC-HRMS/MS methodologies for the analysis of contaminants of emerging concern in surface waters, under supervision of Dr. Cintia Flores.
He is currently a PhD candidate in the Analytical Chemistry and Environment programme of the University of Barcelona, carrying out his studies at the Geochemistry and Pollution group under supervision of Dr. Joan Grimalt and Dr. Pilar Fernández. The main subject of his research is to study the presence and distribution of organic pollutants in the lower Ebro River after the remediation of the chlor-alkali wastes of the Flix reservoir.
