Research group: Surface Hydrology and Erosion
For most of my career, the main research subjects have been the runoff generation and erosion processes, along with the uncertainties associated to their modelling. The role of land cover changes on water resources and linking the hydrology of temporary rivers with aquatic ecology are also sought questions of major relevance for land and water management.
TRivers-P
Ecological status of temporary rivers: methods for assessing disconnected ponds
The TRivers-P project aims to develop a method to assess the ecological status of ponds disconnected from temporary or intermittent rivers, by developing a predictive model that will obtain the values of the expected metrics under reference conditions in function of pond disconnection time and other key variables

LIFE CLIMARK
Forest management promotion for climate change mitigation through the design of a local market of climate credits
Forests play a crucial role in carbon balancing. However, in recent years carbon sink saturation have been observed. To reverse this trend and help fighting climate change, the objective of the project is to increase the carbon sink capacity of Mediterranean forests by fostering the mitigating effects of multifunctional forest management through the creation of a climate credit market.
