Research group: Environmental Pollution & Agriculture (EPA)
Born in Sant Cugat, Barcelona (Spain) in 1989. Graduated in 2012 from Institut Químic de Sarrià (Barcelona) with a degree in Chemistry, also graduated in 2015 from University of Barcelona with a Master in Analytical Chemistry, where my research was focused on the development of a method for the extraction and determination of sulfonamides in vegetable matrix by UHPLC-MS/MS.
In 2015, I was awarded a grant from the Spanish Government to work on my Ph.D. thesis at IDAEA -CSIC (Barcelona). The research aims to investigate the impact of chemical pollution due to atmosphere, rain, soil and irrigation water in selected crops (lettuce, artichokes, cabbage, tomato, eggplant and zucchini). This study will be performed in the delta of Llobregat (Barcelona, Spain) in a gradient of air pollution and water irrigation of different physico-chemical quality. Persistent organic micropollutants (PAHs, PCBs, DDTs, PFOS, PBDEs, triazine and phenoxy herbicides, pyrethroids), persistent emerging pollutants (carbamazepine, BPA, PFCA, antibiotics), heavy metals (Cu, Ba, Zn, Pb, Hg, Cd) and metalloids (As) will be analyzed.
