Xavier Querol receives the Research National Award

The researcher Xavier Querol, from the research group Environmental Geochemistry and Atmospheric Research (EGAR), has received the Research National Award “Alejandro Malaspina” in Sciences and Technologies of Natural Resources, the highest recognition of scientific research in Spain.

Awarded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation and given by the King of Spain, Querol receives it for “his leadership in the developement of techonolgies, methodologies, models and scientific contributions to understand the importance of aerosols and their interaction with pollutants and human health translating the scientific knowledge that he has developed into policies that ensure public health and  ecosystem health”.

Two more scientists from the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) have received this recognition, Laura Lechuga, from the mixed center GENCAT-CSIC-UAB, in the field of nanotechnology and nanoscience, and Carme Torras, from the Instituto de Robótica e Informática Industrial in the area of intelligent robotics.
