Teresa Moreno coordinates the Master’s Degree in Pandemics, Global Health and COVID-19

The Menéndez Pelayo International University and the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) organise the third edition of the online Master’s Degree in Pandemics, Global Health and COVID-19, coordinated by the IDAEA-CSIC director, Teresa Moreno, together with María Montoya (CIB-CSIC), and Julio Pérez (IEGD-CSIC), and directed by the virologist Margarita del Val (CBMSO-CSIC-UAM).
The main objective of the Master’s is to offer advanced multidisciplinary training in pandemics, global health, and specifically in COVID-19, taught by some of the best specialists in the fields. The Master’s has 60 credits (ECTS) and will be held from September 2022 to June 2023. The program is promoted by PTI Global Health of CSIC and it is structured in three modules:
- Module I. Biology of SARS-CoV-2. Diagnosis and treatments (20 ECTS)
- Module II. Transmission and prevention (20 ECTS)
- Module III. Population, health and epidemiology (20 ECTS)
Teresa Moreno coordinates the Module II, which focuses on the study of contagion and prevention. Specifically, on the main routes of the SARS-CoV-2 contagion, protection measures, detection of the virus in different environments, risk evaluation in different conditions, and operation of the tracking systems.
