Kick-off sampling of the project about CO2 in classrooms given the context of climate change and Covid-19 pandemic

The project “Biological dynamics of CO2 in classrooms given the current context of climate change and pandemic caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus” started yesterday with the first sampling. The project studies how the natural ventilation required during the current Covid-19 pandemic influences air quality in classrooms, in line with the recommendations of the guide published by IDAEA-CSIC.
The project leaders Natalia Moreno Pamerola and Belén Martrat went to a school to carry out the first sampling. Following the protocols, they measured CO2, PM2.5 and NO2 inside the classrooms and will continue these samplings during the whole year 2021.
