International scientists ask for the creation of a global science-policy body for the management of chemical compounds

19 February 2021

An international group of scientists, including the researcher Joan Grimalt from IDAEA-CSIC, proposes the creation of a global science-policy body to inform policy makers and public opinion about the management of chemicals and waste. In an article published yesterday in Science, the group explains how the current international governance of chemicals and waste relies on a limited and fragmentary interaction between political management and science that has resulted in widespread damage to health and the environment.
