The Institute of Environmental Assessment and Water Research (IDAEA-CSIC) is offering a PhD position to develop simplified tools to model multiphase flow and geomechanical response at the regional scale in the context of CO2 sequestration. The position is part of the MuPSI project, funded by the CETP2023, to develop a multiscale integrated approach to assess geomechanical risks for CO2 storage at Gt scale.
What we are looking for
- Qualifications:
Degree in Civil, Reservoir, or Petroleum Engineering. - Professional experience:
Good knowledge and previous experience on geomechanics and/or multiphase flow - Competences:
Excellent level of English.
Proficiency in programming and/or numerical modelling is positively evaluated.
Good communication skills and team working capabilities are essential
Working conditions
- Contract duration: 3 years (36 months)
- Estimated annual gross salary: the successful candidate will receive salary in accordance with the CSIC level M3 (around 30,000€/year). The exact salary will be confirmed upon appointment.
- Target start date: 1st December 2024
