The Institute of Environmental Assessment and Water Research (IDAEA-CSIC) is looking for a predoctoral researcher to carry out a PhD thesis on improving air quality monitoring focussing on hotspots and source apportionment of regulated and emerging pollutants (ultrafine particles, black carbon, volatile organic compounds among others) in the framework of a Horizon Europe project.
What do we look for?
- Qualifications
Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Physics, Environmental Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Data Science, Geology, or related disciplines.
- Competences
Programming skills interest in machine learning techniques.
Ability to work in an organised, rigorous, and collaborative manner.
Good oral and written English skills.
Motivation to develop a PhD thesis in an international and multidisciplinary research.
Working conditions
- Contract duration: 4 years
- Target start date: between November 2026 and January 2027
