The Institute of Environmental Assessment and Water Research (IDAEA-CSIC) is offering 1 contract to work for a leading research institute with the primary objective of providing comprehensive support and management services to Principal Investigators to enhance research potential and output by attracting European and international competitive funding through project idea identification, in depth knowledge of the funding ecosystem, project proposal preparation and implementation of innovation and knowledge transfer initiatives.
The selected person will be responsible for:
- The expansion of research activities within the institutes by attracting national, international, public and private funds.
- Follow-up and detailed analysis of the European and international funding frameworks in line with the capacities and interests of the research groups of the institute.
- Identification of funding opportunities and support throughout the proposal development process for public and private international calls.: assistance with proposal management, call fit, consortium composition for collaborative RIA/IA proposals, work plans, writing, budget preparation, ensuring compliance and submission deadlines, among other activities.
- Participation in events to establish new collaborations and contact with representatives and national contact points, especially in the context of preparing of a proposal (seminars, workshops, infodays). Establish collaborations that allow entry into new projects and consortia.
- Promote and implement activities to increase National and European innovation and knowledge transfer actions, targeting agencies, foundations and both the private and public sectors.
- Implement and manage the offices data bases for follow-up reports and indicators evaluations.
What do we look for?
- Qualifications
Master degree or PhD in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Geology, Biology, Pharmacy or Physics
- Professional experience
Two to four years of experience in Universities/research and technology centres, private companies, or consultancies, performing functions similar to those of the position offered.
- Competences
Fluent in English; Spanish and Catalan is a plus (other languages are a bonus). Dynamic, highly motivated, creative and proactive person with excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team from different scientific disciplines.
Strong interpersonal skills to build a fluid relationship with different types of collaborators and actors in the ecosystem. Readiness to travel. Advanced user of Microsoft Office.
Working conditions
- Contract duration: Three years, with the possibility of further extension depending on the success achieved in attracting funding
- Estimated annual gross salary: Salary will commensurate with qualifications and experience
- Target start date: April 2026
