

Sílvia Díaz, Cristina Valhondo and Jesús Carrera, at the “Groundwater, key to the sustainable development goals” Conference
The researcher Sílvia Díaz (ENFOCHEM), Cristina Valhondo, and Jesús Carrera (Groundwater and Hydrogeochemistry) participate as chairwomen and chairman of the session Active aquifer management – Aquifer-river links and recharge at the International Conference “Groundwater, key to the sustainable development goals”. The conference will be held in Paris on 18, 19 and 20 May.
This year, UNESCO dedicated World Water Day to groundwater. Groundwater resources have a key direct role in food, hygiene, human health, and in the protection and restoration of ecosystems and biodiversity. Indirectly, groundwater resources have a role in the reduction of poverty and inequalities, contribution to education and gender equality, and peace.
