Teaching resources to close the gender gap in Earth sciences 

The Gender Commission of the Iberian Association of Limnology, where the researchers Miguel Cañedo-Argüelles and Núria Catalán from the IDAEA-CSIC participate, has developed teaching resources to make female scientists visible and reduce gender bias in the area of Earth sciences, specifically in the field of limnology (the discipline that studies lakes, rivers, reservoirs and other freshwater systems). 

 

Kick off for the new EU-funded project UPWATER with the goal to prevent the release of chemicals to groundwaters

El investigador Joan Grimalt ha hablado en el diario Público sobre las especies de pescado aptas para su consumo. "El mercurio que hemos encontrado en el Mediterráneo no proviente de fuentes naturales. Proviene de la contaminación: al quemar carbón con mercurio, este pasa a la atmósfera y, al final, acaba en el agua", ha declarado.


Xavier Querol va assenyalar en el diari La Veu que les partícules PM2,5 són les més perilloses per a la salut humana i que les malalties que provoquen són les de tipus cardiovasculars i respiratòries.
