Call For Papers - Tropical Agriculture: the Future of Food and Water Security in the MENA Region

From 29th to 30th January 2015 King's College London (KCL), the OCP Policy Center, the Barcelona Centre for International Affairs (CIDOB) and Wageningen University will organize an international conference on Tropical Agriculture: the Future of Food and Water Security in the MENA region, which will take place in Barcelona. The program will consist of twelve papers and will be organized by Mark Mulligan (KCL), Martin Keulertz (Purdue University), Karim El Aynaoui (OCP Policy Center), Eckart Woertz (CIDOB) and Jeroen Warner (Wageningen University).

MAGHRENOV project workshop on Capacity Building in EU-MPC

Legal frameworks for cooperation on transboundary waters - Key aspects and opportunities for the Arab countries workshop

The Workshop will be from 11th to 12th June 2014 in Tunis, Tunisia and will discuss how transboundary cooperation can be fostered in order to improve water resources management between riparian countries, the sustainability of these shared resources and to safeguard water rights. Specifically, the Workshop will aim to increase awareness and understanding of the different legal frameworks for cooperation on shared waters resources. It will provide a platform to discuss the opportunity that the globalization of the Water Convention represents for the Arab region.

The European Water Platform latest newsletter

The European Water Platform has launched their new newsletter. The WssTP launched its new Innovation and Technology Advisory Board (iTAB). The WssTP iTAB will advise the Board on the consistency and relevance of the WssTP WG structure; evaluate and advise the board on the relevance of bottom-up proposals for new WG; monitor, guide, and supervise the quality of the work done in the individual Working Groups (WGs) and the WG structure as a whole.

UN-Water Annual International Zaragoza 2015 Conference

The 2015 UN-Water International Zaragoza Conference ’Water and sustainable development: From vision to action’ will start the year by focusing on how to bring the agenda into action; a practical event on tools for implementation.
