The Mass Spectrometry Service of the Institute of Environmental Assesment and Water Research (IDAEA-CSIC) in Barcelona is divided between the following units:

v Mass Spectrometry Unit, High Resolution, located in Hall of Dioxin, subdivided into 

 

 Ø Laboratory of Dioxins

 Ø Laboratory of organic pollutants (POPs) in aquatic environment  

v Mass Spectrometry Unit, Special Techniques, located on the ground floor of the Hall of Chemistry, subdivided into   

 Ø Laboratory GC-MS

 Ø Laboratory LC-MS 

 Ø Laboratory of volatile compounds  

v ICP-MS unit, located on the 5th floor of the building "Pascual Vila"  

The following techniques are available: 

- GC- MS in electron impact mode

- Purge and Trap coupled to GC-MS in electron impact mode

- GC-MS in positive and negative chemical ionization mode (using methane or ammonia as reagent gas)

- GC-MS/MS (electron impact and chemical ionization)

- GC x GC- ToF in electron impact mode

- GC-HRMS (magnetic sector)

- LC-MS/MS (triple quad, Esp and Apci interfaces)

- LC-HRMS/MS (Q-q-ToF) (Esp interface) 

- LC-MS/MS (Q-q-TRAP) (Esp and Apci interfaces)

- LC-HRMS (ToF) (Esp and Esci interfaces) 

- GC/MS

- HRGC/HRMS
